چکیده
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been associated with excess mortality worldwide. The cardiovascular system is second most common target of SARS-CoV-2, which leads to complications, including myocardial injury, myocarditis, arrhythmias, and venous thromboembolism, as well other major thrombotic events because direct endothelial injury an excessive systemic inflammatory response. This review focuses on similarities differences pathways involved in COVID-19 atherosclerosis. Anti-inflammatory agents immunomodulators have recently assessed, may constitute rational treatments for reduction both atherosclerotic heart disease.

Inflammatory mechanisms in atherosclerosis.
Throughout the last two decades inflammation has been recognized as the central mechanism underlying atherogenesis. A multitude of basic science work demonstrates the pivotal role of inflammatory processes during every step of atherosclerotic plaque formation: From initiation via propagation to complication. This review describes some of the key mechanisms involved with a particular focus on th...

Many molecular and cellular mechanisms link inflammation and haemostatic mechanisms. Inflammation, and perhaps chronic infection, may play important roles in the initiation and progression of atherosclerosis. Atherosclerotic lesions are heavily infiltrated by cellular components associated with inflammation (macrophages and T lymphocytes), and acute plaque rupture is also associated with inflam...

Background and aims: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is mainly a respiratory disease which is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 Virus. The outbreak first began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 and then expanded globally. COVID-19 can result in illness ranging from mild to severe. However, some of the affected individuals might be asymptomatic. Symptoms of the disease may appear in as few as 2 days...
متن کاملIntracranial Atherosclerosis: Current Understanding and Perspectives
The importance of intracranial atherosclerotic disease (ICAD) as a cause of stroke is underscored as compared to that of extracranial carotid stenosis and nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. Recent large clinical trials of ICAD, which evaluated the effectiveness of anticoagulation and stenting to prevent thromboembolism and restore hemodynamic compromise, failed to reduce major vascular events in ...
متن کاملCOVID-19: combining antiviral and anti-inflammatory treatments
The high affinity of baricitinib for the numb-associated kinase (NAK) family, its anti-inflammatory properties, with its advantageous pharmacokinetic properties, appear to make it a special case among the approved drugs. In addition, the potential for combination therapy with baracitinib is high, because of its low plasma protein binding and minimal interaction with CYP enzymes and drug transp...
